These are albums that are special to me. I listen to way more music, especially death/black metal, but I can't really name many albums since theres so many different artists. I'll update this whenever I find something new and wonderful that I enjoy. Also there are many cases where I enjoy many songs from different albums from the same artist and I can't pick a favorite (e.g Children of Bodom).
Hermóðr
This was the album that got me into atmospheric bm, the artist has such a refined style. The album has stuck with me for couple years now.
Infant Annihilator
The first time I heard anything from infant annihilator, I wondered how anyone could listen to such noise. Now that I have finally learned to listen, I'm in love with the entire album. Anyone who knows the band knows why theyre so liked. The vocals, the instrumental, the unseriousness, the art.
None
This one is fairly new to me, only having discovered it this year. I've been trying to get more into DSBM and this album has stuck out. I love the sample in "you did a good thing". The melodies are very nice and feels very cold.
Approaching Mountains
This one feels nostalgic, its my most streamed purely because its my sleeping album... not in a bad way of course. I like how every song stands out, sounding different but fitting. The album cover is also very special to me.
Magdalena Bay
This one is also new, only discovered this year. Wonderful sounds, ideas and effects. Favs are image, vampire in the corner and tunnel vision.
Avenged Sevenfold
Summer of 2023 I started to get really into A7X. I dont think I listened to anything else during that time. The band was also something me and my now partner bonded over. One of the first "favorite" albums I ever discovered myself.
Avenged Sevenfold
This was released in the peak of my A7X listening era. This lead to it being my most streamed album. My least fav track is mattel, only to say how much I love the others.
Charli XCX
Summer of 2024. Its my first album I listened fully on my own. I would have it on loop while playing stalker anomaly. This made it so it reminds me of stalker every time. My least favorite song is apple. My favorite nowadays is I think about it all the time. I think its a really deep and thought-provoking song.
Lana Del Rey
My friend who has a car owns this cd, and since its her driving she will choose the music. Ive listened to this so many times. Also listened to it a bunch while playing stalker. So it reminds me of late night driving and stalker. One of the few albums where I like every song.
Boards of Canada
Very good samples. Not much I can say about this one. It inspires me a lot.
Blood Incantation
I love the sound, its truly evil. It reminds me of Qu from all tomorrows. The vocals are amazing, the guitar is amazing, I love it.
Bathory
Its hard for me to say a fav album from bathory (name is based on it btw :D), since I mostly just listen to random songs from them. This one has a good sound to it from the couple songs that I have heard. Ill listen to it once I can really listen. The vocals sound like eric cartman to me, this is the main reason I found it slightly hard to get into it.
Car Seat Headrest
Might be my favorite cshr album. So many memories in this one. It reminds me of my other friend who I used to "live" with. I guess we dont really talk that much now so it makes that album little more sad.
Black Mountain Transmitter
Listened to this at 5am on winter nights while preparing for exams. I also was drinking a cold energy drink. What a good memory! The sound is really chilling.
Car Seat Headrest
Smoking album, thats what comes to mind everytime I listen to any songs from this. Oh also being very depressed. Cshr has this very different and cool way of describing stuff, I love it a lot. It also reminds me of the other friend. One good memory of this album was when I was sitting outside in the cold winter, smoking while looking at the green northern lights. I think about it a lot.
Dråpsnatt
Another fairly new album for me. This album is something Ive never seen before. With the first time it keeps surprising the listener with everything they would want to hear. I would love to get a shirt from the band, too bad...
